Company History and Philosophy
FindWhat.com was conceived as a new search engine offering better solutions both to web "surfers" trying to quickly access specific information, and to advertisers seeking to be found among the increasing clutter of results on other search engines.
According to a study done at Georgia Tech, 87% of Internet users begin their time online with a search engine and 75% end their search on the first page of results. The challenge for business managers is to seek more effective ways of driving qualified traffic to their web sites, and gaining higher placements on search engines.
Rather than position the company as another "everything and the kitchen sink" web portal, bogged down by excessive irrelevant features, we envisioned FindWhat.com as a lean-and-mean search engine. No clutter, no redundant information, no wasted space. Fast, relevant searches with the top results pointing to the most active companies and web sites in any given topic.
With our system web surfers win, and so do advertisers. FindWhat.com uses a proprietary Pay For Position™ technology. With this technology, search results are ranked based upon an open bidding system, where each advertiser can bid a higher click-through fee in order for their message to be closer to the top of the search results.
Advertisers are only charged for actual clicks, or traffic, which come to their site. As long-time Internet users ourselves, we feel we have created the best solution to finding what you want, and letting people know what you want others to find.
