Marnix S. van Gisbergen, Manager Research Development, de Vos & Jansen
Marnix S. van Gisbergen works as a Manager Research Development at De Vos & Jansen Marketing Research, a full service research company in The Netherlands.
Marnix van Gisbergen studied Communication Science at the Radboud University. After he graduated, he worked as an Assistant Professor in Communication Science at the same University (1998-2005).
In 1999, he started working as a General Manager at Marketing Symbolics, a foundation aiming to increase cooperation between business and science.
In 2000 he started his dissertation project at the Radboud University (Communication Science Department). Together with Paul Ketelaar he is doing research on the effects of the ‘open advertising’ strategy. This dissertation project received an allowance from NWO (Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research).
In 2005, Marnix started working as a Lecturer in Leisure Management at the Breda University of Applied Sciences. His research interests include the effects of advertising and communication strategies on consumer behavior.
He is a specialist in eye-tracking research and is considered an expert when it comes to Advertising, (New) Media, Leisure Management, Imagineering, and Semiotics.
Marnix has published in several national and international magazines, and has spoken at various international conferences, such as the annual conferences of the American Academy of Advertising, the Society for Consumer Psychology, the International Communication Association, the International Visual Literacy Association, and the International Conference on Research in Advertising.
Furthermore, he has conducted guest lectures for universities and business organizations. In his presentations he frequently incorporates work experiences with findings from scientific research. Marnix is considered an enthusiastic and thought-provoking speaker.
