==> NEWSLETTERS - PRO'S AND CON'S by Lennart Svanberg

The idea of IMC-Update is to give you news about IMC (conference, expo & education) as well as news about the Internet Marketing Industry.

I originally started a newsletter in 1999, cancelled it in 2000, started a new one in 2001 (that was the start of IMC-Update), changed name to Right On The Spot 2003 and now since December 2005 it's back to IMC-Update.

During these years I've tested different techniques as regards to content, distribution techniques and frequency.

All in all, it's taken a long time to get here:=).

Here's a brief list of Newsletter pro's and con's:

* Frequency; If you'd like to get really big with your newsletter, you need to have a regular frequency in sending out your newsletter. The more frequent, the more subscribers you'll get. Irregular distribution has the positive affect that you get more attention for those newsletter that you send out.

* HTML vs Text; Almost everyone reads HTML-newsletters. Text-version's only are so limited in possibilites that they're not recommended. However, a few people only read text-only newsletter so if you have the time, create text-only newsletter.

* Content; Here's the biggest challenge - if you don't have anything to say - how can you create interesting content? The keywords are "Steal with Pride". There are so many people doing so much content for the Internet that as long as you make a note who wrote it - "steal" anything you can get hold of :).

I hope that my hard-learned experiences can be of interest to you.

==> USABILITY: INTERVIEW-BASED TASKS: LEARNING FROM LEONARDO DI CAPRIO

The silence was deafening. The corporate Vice President of Marketing sat at the head of the table, with the rest of the room populated by the development team. Nobody was saying a word. They were just letting the question just hang in the air: "What did we do wrong?"

==> PAYPAL GOES MOBILE

The online payment service may be preparing to launch a service that would let people pay for items by texting from their cell phones.

==> ÖGON STYR SNART VAR DATOR

Hannover. Inom fem år styrs alla datorer av ögonens rörelser. I alla fall om man ska tro svensken John Elvesjö och företaget Tobii. På mässan demonstrerar de tekniken och den är lätt att tycka om.
